Berry Sauce

Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups strawberries, thinly sliced, 3/4 cup raspberries, 3/4 cup blueberries, 3/4 cup blackberries, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 3/4 cup sugar

 

STEPS: Combine all the berries. Pour about 2/3 of the mixture into the saucepan and keep the rest refrigerated. Add the sugar and lemon juice to the sauce. After about 5 minutes, transfer the mixture to the blender and puree the berry sauce until smooth. Set a mesh strainer over a bowl and pour the pureed berry mixture. (Force the mixture through with the back of a spoon if necessary.) Refrigerate the berry sauce until ready to serve. Before serving, add the reserved berries to the sauce and add water (to thin the sauce) as needed.
